Orthotics for structural support
Orthotics can support your foundation. Ever been out on a run or bike ride only to be cut short because of knee, hip, back pain or neck pain. Did you know it’s probably coming from your feet, the pronation or supination position. Think about it this way, if the foundation of your house is collapsing downward (pronation) or upward (supination) what is happening to the supporting exterior walls? Wouldn’t the exterior walls change angles and positions and collapse inward or outward to support the above structures? You are exactly right, the angle of the above structures would change to support the structure.
This analogy is exactly what occurs in your body. If your feet, are in a over pronated position (collapsed arch) or over supinated position (high arch) the knees, hips, back and neck change angles or rotate to accommodate. The end result is usually secondary symptoms of pain and tightness.
If you’re interested in learning more about the foundation of your body and how it affects the rest of your joints, setup an in person 15 minute consultation with my office for a free 3D body scan. This body scan visually demonstrates your problem areas and how this is causing issues and symptoms throughout your body. Once we identify and review the problem, we can discuss the resolution.
